How to use this catalogue

Symbols before the plant name indicate:-
evergreen = Evergreen
full_star= Dislikes Chalk and lime
semi-tender = Semi tender

Plants are listed alphabetically using Generic Latin name, e.g. ACORUS.
Beneath the Generic name is the specific name or epithet, e.g. gramineus.
Common names are shown in brackets, e.g. (Dwarf Sweetflag)
Variety or cultivar names are shown in quotes, e.g. ‘Ogon’.
Followed by a brief description of the plant.

Royal Horticultural Society Award of Merit. = Royal Horticultural Society Award of Merit.

Column headed Soil Type, describes the soil type or depth of water.
1= Deep aquatic
2= Aquatic
3= Marginal
4= Wet soil
5= Ordinary soil with reasonable moisture retention
6= Dry soil


Column headed Approximate Height, this may vary according to conditions.

Column headed Sun Shade, denotes preferred aspect.
Full sun = Full sun
Part shade = Part shade
Full shade = Full shade

Column headed Month Flower gives approximate month of flowering.
